On Tuesday 24th February,  I took my Sam Kelly’s Band (withTony Qunta and Spy Austin) to play at this welcoming new music venue in Hooley, Surrey.

The Club is run by Richard Dunning of Rich Sound and Entertainment together with his great sound engineer, Simon Taylor.  Richard also presents “Blues On The Radio” on Croydon Radio.com so I went along that afternoon for a live on air interview .  I had to suggest six tracks which have influenced me over the years.  Here are the ones I chose:

1) ERROL LINTON – BLUES VIBE “Howlin for my darling”
2) SAM KELLY’S STATION HOUSE – SUNDAY BEST “Treat a Dog”
3) JOAN ARMATRADING – LOVE & AFFECTION “Show some emotion”
4) FRANCESCO BOLDINI – PLUS 42 “Born under a bad sign”
5) PROFESSOR LONGHAIR – BIG CHIEF “Mardi Gras in New Orleans”
6) STEEL PULSE – HANDSWORTH REVOLUTION “Ku Klux Klan”

It was really great chatting to Richard – I could have gone on for hours, but I had a show to get too – and so did he!!!

Besides the pleasure of performing at this Club, we also got some great photos taken by John Bull of Rockrpix (what a photographer!!) as well as some really superb HD video footage by Phil Honley who has kindly uploaded this onto Youtube.  Thank you for doing such a great job and helping to promote my Sam Kelly’s Band.
